Peyton Thomas Ricker
December 6, 2001 - December 15, 2009
Peyton passed away this morning after a brave battle with brain cancer.
He lives now free of the pain and limitaions his Earthly body experienced.

I am a child of God and He has called me home.
My earthly journey's through but still, I do not walk alone.
He leads me, guides me, walks beside me, helps me find the way.
He welcomed me with open arms. I live with Him today.

I am a child of God and I have gone ahead.
My earthly life was brief but oh, such peace and love you gave.
You loved me, held me, stood beside me and though I cannot stay.
You gave me much to help me and I live with Him today.

I am a child of God and I will wait for you.
Celestial glory shall be ours, if you can but endure.
I'll lead you, guide you, walk beside you.
Help you find the way.
I'll welcome you with open arms
One bright Celestial day.

Prayers are being offered thousands of miles away on your family's behalf.

He is probably asking him the same adorable questions that he was asking you. (If he can pet rattle snakes...etc etc.) I know he is looking down and smiling and telling our Heavenly Father how much he loves you guys. I know you will be eternally blessed for the righteous upbringing that you gave Peyton. I pray that you will feel peace in your hearts and comfort knowing that you will be with him again.

  40. We are so sorry for your loss. Peyton was such a sweet little boy. Eddie still remembers his first encounter with Ty and Peyton and the football game. I know Heavenly Father has a special plan for him in Heaven as he did on Earth. Because of you and Peyton many have learned about faith and family values and those that have faith, became stronger. "You" are a child of God and a great example to all of us. As for Peyton? he will always be my hero. His journey has taugh many that without faith we are nothing. I love you and always be blessed.

  47. Letter to Peyton

As you look down on us today you already know that in your life here on earth you touched many lives. Keeping up with your story will forever change my thoughts and actions as a human, father, and brother firefighter. There are no answers only faith here on earth. Knowing that you will guide and watch over us in our daily lives, and at work in those dark hot scary places brings me a great since of peace and faith. Like the brother and sister firefighters who have gone before us we will treasure our time together and never forget, for there will come a time when we will all be together again at the big firehouse in the sky. The pain and grief we all feel will soon turn to strength, and a belief that there really are angels who walk among us so that we might love one another and walk in the light of the lord. May god bless and keep us all. We all have a day and when it is mine, Peyton, please be at the firehouse to greet me. I want to pick you up, hug you..... and say thank you little brother for my life was forever changed by your heavenly presence.

    Brother Cliff Langton
    Houston Fire Dept.

  51. Jenna-

All I have heard is how amazing and courageous you and Robert have been. I am so thankful you got to share in so many precious memories with Peyton before this passing- you've made memories a lot of parents will never get to do with their children. I hope you may always remember his cute smirkey smile and the love and warmth he brought into everyones lives. I know his example has changed a lot of peoples lives- along with the rest of your families. Although every loss is different, I hope you know I am here if you ever need to talk. Your arms will always ache for him but his spirit will constantly surround you. We love you!

  52. I was introduced to Peyton's page through Craft Hope (www.crafthope.com) and I am sorry to hear of your loss. However, I know that you find comfort that you will definitely see him again!

I've had a lot of loss myself over the month of December, and Peyton is just one small inspiration to me to turn my grief into action.
